How do you insert a stomach tube in cattle

You would have to go down through the mouth down through the esophagus into the rumen. Your local vet may have a pair of mouth gags for you to use so you donot have to struggle with the animal biting down on the tubing with calves this mouth gag wont be necessary. You will know if you have when down the wrong pipe if the cattle beast starts hacking and coughing. If it is doing that, then bring the tubing up again and put it down again if the animal is swallowing the tube (swallowing reflex will be going like crazy when your putting the tube down the esophagus), this is a good sign. When you think you have the tube down far enough (about 2 feet worth), start pouring down the liquids that you need the animal to consume. When you are done, pull the tube up very slowly so that you donot damage the esophageal membrane and other tissues in the cows neck and mouth.
